About Mr. Dursky
My name is Mike Dursky and I am currently the Success Coordinator at the Oskaloosa High School. Most people say I am the "Hometown Boy" because I grew up in Oskaloosa attending Grant Elementary and graduating from Oskaloosa High School in 1985. My Education Lifelong learning has always been very important to me. My undergraduate studies were at Central College, where I graduated in 1989. From there I attended Drake University where I received my Master of Science in Education degree in 1993 and my Specialist in Education degree in 2009. My Career In the fall of 1989, I began substitute teaching for the Oskaloosa School District and was hired as a full time teacher at Garfield Elementary in the spring of 1990. From Garfield I moved on to teach at Grant Elementary and then to the Oskaloosa Middle School. In 2007 I decided to try a different side of the educational system and became the Associate Principal at the Oskaloosa Middle School. In 2013 I moved to the Oskaloosa Elementary and enjoyed the challenges and rewards of being in a leadership role. Now, starting for the 2021-22 school year, I will be at the Oskaloosa High School as the Success Coordinator and look forward to this new way to serve our students and community. |
My Family |
After graduating from Central College in 1989, Jill and I got married and decided to settle down in Oskaloosa to be with our families and raise our children. In 1992 we welcomed our first daughter, Haley, and then in 1993 Megan joined our family. Both of our daughters graduated from college in 2014, Haley from Central College and Megan from William Penn University. We welcomed two son-in-laws the following two summers. Haley married Adam Rohloff and gave us our grandson Eli Walter. Megan married Erik McGee and gave us our first grandchild, Myles Conner, and now the twins Hazel Rae and Luca John. I am enjoying spending time with my grandchildren.
